The Nordic-Baltic Conference on Biomedical Engineering has proven to be the forum in which biomedical engineers from the Nordic-Baltic countries and worldwide report technical advances and exchange ideas in this rapidly developing field of science and technology. This status and many new and unique features make the NBC99 an event you will definitely want to attend!

The conference will be the last in this series in this millennium. Therefore, besides discussions on the traditional scientific topics and a broad spectrum of recent achievements it seems appropriate to analyse the past and look ahead, specifying the main trends and future developments of Biomedical Engineering. Besides oral and poster presentations, diverse panel discussions and workshops will take place.

Tallinn - more than 800 year old Hansa city - has turned into an attractive meeting site in the Nordic-Baltic region. The venue of the Conference is the modern Sakala Convention Centre, close to the historical Old Town.
