Conference Cite

Tallinn - an old Hansa city, located practically in the centre of the Baltic Sea region, has historical experience and good possibilities to switch Western and Eastern, Northern and Southern countries, towns, people and goods, including knowledge and information in this area.

Conference time - 6-10 June, 1999

There is a tradition to celebrate Old Town days at the first decade of June in our old Tallinn. A lot of open air concerts, shows and market at historical Market Place near Town Hall take place. The nice sandy beach with pines Pirita is located at 6 km distance from the Conference Centre. We hope, that participants of the conference will have a good and interesting trip to Tallinn always, but especially at this time of light nights.

Venue - Sakala Centre

Sakala Centre is a unique complex of buildings in the very heart of Tallinn, designed at different times. Due to its versatile possibilities the centre has been a favourite place for hosting meetings, negotiations, conferences etc. In the old and new buildings of Sakala Centre at one's your disposal there are 16 auditoriums and meeting-rooms of sizes accommodating up to 110 people and five Halls: congress hall 1100 seats, small hall 300 seats, balcony hall 55 seats, chamber hall 200 seats and theatre hall 340 seats.

Visa requirements

Participants from countries requiring visa should apply to the Estonian consular or diplomatic missions in their home countries. An official invitation letter will be sent by the Organizing Committee upon request.

Currency and Credit cards

Official currency in Estonia is Estonian Crone (1 DEM=8 EEK). Credit cards (VISA, Eurocard/MasterCard) are accepted in hotels, department stores and restaurants.

Weather

Estonia has a temperate maritime climate, which is quite changeable. The daytime temperature in summer is 18-25°C.

Accommodation

A large number of hotels of different classification up to **** are located within walking distances of the conference centre. The accommodation in hotel near the Pirita beach would be proposed also.
